This is education, not advice

The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you whether either option is suitable for your hair, your skin, your health or your circumstances.

No outcome is guaranteed

No treatment can be guaranteed. Hair reduction is not permanent hair removal: hair returns over the months after a course, how much returns varies, and maintenance is part of the plan. Neither option works well on light, grey, red or white hair.

Both options carry the same kind of risk

Burns, blistering and changes in skin colour are possible with either instrument, and the risk is higher on darker skin and after recent sun exposure. A pigment change can take months to settle and can persist. Neither instrument is free of these risks.

A reaction is assessed rather than managed at home

A blister, a burn or a change in skin colour after treatment is examined rather than covered or waited out. This site cannot tell you whether a particular reaction is expected, and it does not replace that assessment.
